How to Use Signeasy Trust Seal?

Enable tamper protection and ensure the long-term validity of your e-signed documents with Signeasy Trust Seal.

What is Signeasy’s Trust Seal?

Signeasy Trust Seal is a digital seal based on Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), a framework of globally practiced security policies and technologies. It adds an extra layer of security to your e-signed documents, making them self-verifying for any tampering attempts.

Benefits of Trust Seal

  • Self-Verifying Tamper Evidence — Any modifications to the document will invalidate the Trust Seal. The seal’s validity will be clearly visible in any standard PDF reader.

  • Enhanced Trust & Credibility — Builds trust with partners and stakeholders by showcasing commitment to document integrity.

  • Strengthened legal defense — A signed document with a Trust Seal provides stronger legal protection.

  • Simplified Global Acceptance — Streamlines international compliance with regulations requiring document integrity and audit trails.

Who can use the Trust Seal?

Trust Seal is currently available for users on the Signeasy Business Plus plan.

How to enable Trust Seal for a signature request?

Step 1 — Upload your document and proceed to add signer details.

Step 2 — In the Advanced option section at the bottom of the screen, toggle the Apply Trust Seal switch to enable the Trust Seal for the signature request.

Step 3  Complete adding signer details and click Add Fields to continue.

How is the document sealed?

Once all recipients have signed, Signeasy automatically applies the Trust Seal to the final document. The digital signature standard is PAdES-BLT. This standard of the seal is time-stamped and all the metadata needed to validate the seal, even after decades, is embedded into the digital seal itself.

How to verify a signed document with the Trust Seal?

Anyone can verify the document's integrity by opening it in any PDF reader. Recipients do not need to take additional steps to validate the Trust Seal. If the seal is valid, it will appear intact with an indicator. If the document has been tampered with, the Trust Seal will be broken, indicating the same.
