Organisations change, so that might mean primary ownership of a Signeasy org may need to change too. We’ve outlined how to transfer primary ownership, so keep reading to learn more.
If you are the current owner of Signeasy account and want to transfer ownership of Signeasy account to an existing Admin:
Log into your Signeasy account
Go to ‘Manage Team’ in Account and Settings
You will find the ‘Transfer Ownership’ option
From the popup, choose the admin to whom you want to Transfer ownership of the account and proceed with verification.
Once verified, the chosen Admin would become an 'Owner' and your role will change into 'Admin'. All permission you had as an 'Owner' would be revoked.
If you are an Owner listed on the Signeasy account, you cannot remove yourself from a Signeasy account directly when leaving the organisation. You will need to transfer ownership of your Signeasy account first followed by requesting the current Owner to initiate removal.
I'm not the Owner
Only the Owner can transfer ownership. If your primary owner has left your company or organisation, you'll need to reach out Signeasy support.
Transfer account ownership to an existing user without Admin permissions
In order to transfer ownership of Signeasy account to another user in the account, they must first have Admin permissions. To grant Admin role and transfer ownership:
- Log into your Signeasy account
- Go to ‘Manage Team’ in Account and Settings
- Select the member you want to transfer ownership and click on 'Edit'
- Change the Role from 'Member' to 'Admin.
- Once the Role is changed to 'Admin', follow the Transfer Ownership flow for Admin.
To transfer ownership of Signeasy account to a new individual, the Owner must first invite the new person to be a user on the account and set their role to Admin.
After the new user accepts the invitation, the Owner can transfer ownership to the new user from 'Manage Team' page.
Transfer Ownership is only passing the Owner's permission to a user in Team. If the Owner is exiting the company, a 'Remove' procedure needs to be carried out by the Owner.
