Custom Contract Types and Custom Key Terms [ICM]

Signeasy AI now lets ICM customers define their own contract types and key terms, so the system reflects how their business actually works. Instead of relying only on predefined contract types and fields, you can tailor classification and extraction to match your internal taxonomy—improving accuracy and reducing the need for external tracking.

This feature is available at Organization Settings → Signeasy AI for ICM customers.

Custom Contract Types

You can create your own contract types with a name, description, and associated key terms. A clear description helps Signeasy AI correctly identify and assign the type during processing.

Permissions:

  • Account Owners & Admins: Create, edit, and delete (up to 25 custom types)

  • Other users: View-only access with disabled actions and tooltips

Custom Key Terms

Custom key terms let you define exactly what data to extract and attach those terms to relevant contract types. Each key term can be set as Text, Number, Date, or Dropdown, and should include a clear extraction hint to improve accuracy.

Permissions:

  • Account Owners & Admins: Full create, edit, and delete access

Document-Level Key Terms

You can add one-off key terms directly within a document using the “+ Add” option in the DocViewer. These are useful for capturing contract-specific details without changing your organization-wide schema.

Permissions:

  • Account Owners, Admins, Space Admins, Document Owner: Add and edit

  • Other users: Actions visible but disabled with tooltips

Note: These terms are not part of AI extraction and won’t appear in the Library or AI Insights, but they remain searchable in the repository.

Notes

  • System contract types and key terms remain locked, but custom terms can be added alongside them

  • New key terms apply only to future uploads; existing contracts won’t be reprocessed unless their contract type is reassigned
