Template links allow you to share a reusable document with recipients who can fill in and sign without needing to manually assign each signer every time. With two-role support, you can:
Assign two distinct signer roles
Enforce a signing order
Share a single template link for both parties
Automatically route the document from the first signer to the second
Step 1: Create a Template
Go to Template Workflow.
Upload your document (e.g., a school admission form).
Step 2: Enable Signing Order
To use template links with two roles:
Turn Signing Order ON.
This ensures that the document is signed sequentially (Signer 1 → Signer 2).
Step 3: Add Roles and Fields
Add the first role (e.g., Student):
Insert required fields such as:
Name
Signature
Add the second role (e.g., Parent/Guardian):
Insert fields such as:
Name
Signature
Ensure each field is correctly assigned to its respective role.
Step 4: Create and Share Template Link
Click Next and finalize the template.
Enable the Template Link option.
Copy and share the link with your signers.
Step 5: Signing Experience
First Signer (e.g., Student)
Opens the template link.
Sees that they are the first signer.
Enters required details (name, email, etc.).
Verifies identity (e.g., via OTP/code if enabled).
Completes signing.
Second Signer (e.g., Parent/Guardian)
Automatically receives the document after the first signer completes their step.
Opens the document.
Fills in their details.
Signs the document.
How It Works
The system enforces the signing order.
The second signer cannot access the document until the first signer completes their part.
Both signers use the same template link, but the experience adapts based on their role.
Best Practices
Always enable Signing Order when using multiple roles.
Clearly label roles (e.g., “Student” and “Parent”) to avoid confusion.
Double-check field assignments before sharing the template.
Test the template link once before sending it to real users.
