As of October 1, 2021, The Reserve Bank of India has new guidelines for the processing of recurring online paymentsAs a result, your bank may not process further requests for automated payments on your credit/debit cards, and your SignEasy subscription renewal can fail. But rest assured, this article will help you with the next steps to resolve the payment failure.

What is the New Mandate all about? The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is India's central bank and is responsible for the regulation of the Indian banking system. The RBI announced a host of new guidelines to streamline the process and security measures for card payments, including the requirement of Additional Factor of Authentication (AFA), especially for ‘card-not-present transactions. This brings changes to the existing e-mandates that are set up to manage recurring payments. All financial institutions, associated partners, and gateways must comply with these guidelines starting September 30, 2021. Hence, banks in India have started taking steps to block transactions that do not comply with the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) directive on processing e-mandates for recurring transactions

To resolve the failed payments, you can follow the below steps.

  • iOS: If your SignEasy subscription is through iTunes and your renewal fails, you will have a grace period to process the payment manually. You can learn more about how to process the payment manually here at, https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT203005

  • Android: If your SignEasy subscription is through Google Play Store and your renewal fails, you will have a grace period to process the payment manually. You can learn more about it here at, https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/9818348?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid

  • Web app.

    • If you have subscribed to a Business plan (previously -  Premium Plan) on the SignEasy web app, you can go to my account page and process the payment. ( Reactivating Subscription by the Team Admin )

    • If you have an Essential or Pro plan subscribed on the SignEasy web app, and if it fails to renew, you will have received the email to update/confirm the payment. Please click on the link in the email and your subscription will be automatically renewed.
