Keeping contract data accurate is critical, especially when AI-powered insights are used to drive business decisions. That's why we're excited to introduce the ability to edit AI-extracted key terms directly in the Repository.
With this release, Document Owners and Workspace Admins can correct AI extraction errors from within the DocViewer, ensuring contract metadata remains accurate and trustworthy. Every edit is automatically captured in a detailed audit trail, including who made the change and when it was made.
The Repository is designed to be the source of truth for contract information. While AI extraction significantly reduces manual effort, there may be occasions when extracted values require correction. Until now, users could identify inaccuracies but had no way to update them.
This enhancement makes Repository data more reliable by allowing authorized users to:
Correct AI-extracted key terms directly from the document view.
Maintain accurate contract records.
Track all changes with user attribution and timestamps.
Improve confidence in AI-generated insights and reporting.
The feature was also a key request from several ICM Pilot customers, including FnP.
Users with editing permissions can click Edit in the Key Points section of the DocViewer to enter Edit Mode. From there, extracted values can be updated inline using field-specific controls that support text, dates, dropdowns, and compound fields.
For this initial release, editing is available within the DocViewer, while updated values are automatically reflected across other Repository experiences, including the AI Insights Table and Quick View. All modifications are also recorded in the Document Activity tab for complete visibility.
Document Owners can edit AI-extracted key terms for contracts they own, including contracts sent through Signeasy and contracts they have imported.
Workspace Admins can edit contracts across the workspaces they manage and can step in when a document owner is no longer part of the organization.
All other workspace members have read-only access and can view both the extracted data and the complete edit history.
We're continuing to improve the contract review experience with upcoming enhancements, including a resizable DocViewer side panel for better readability, numbered clause citations for easier navigation to source references, and Edit History support within the Envelopes DocViewer.
This update is another step toward making AI-powered contract management more accurate, transparent, and dependable—giving teams greater control over their contract data while preserving a complete record of every change.
